Flex-a-Lite Electric fan won't fit

In trying to battle the natorious 289 overheating problem I put in a 4 core aluminum raditor and bought a Flex-a-Lite 160 electric fan. The radiator fit nicely, however the fan wouldn't fit due to the pulley. Anyone out there have a suggestion on a better slim fan to use instead?
